YES, FOLKS, JAZZ SHOULD BE FUN, I DON’T CARE WHAT THE JAZZ POLICE SAY!

I am lucky that I get invited to play with such a variety of very talented players. The next months will see me with several old pals and one or two relatively new ones. In June I will be playing some club gigs with Helge Schneider plus American jazz great, Scott Hamilton. There have been some difficulties in scheduling to suit everyone, but this has resulted in a treat for the jazz fans in Berlin. We are booked in to the Quasimodo for three days. Scott plays the first day, Thursday the 8th but can’t do the Friday. So Alan Barnes will fly in, play that night and stay for Saturday the 10th when Scott comes back. So there’ll be two saxes on that night, and two of the best!!! The next day Scott goes back to the UK and Alan comes to Bonn with Helge and I.

Helge and I will be singing on these jazz dates and it promises to be a lot of fun. Yes, folks, jazz should be fun, I don’t care what the Jazz Police say.
